Suhr JM Custom
Suhr P90 pickups. Roasted maple neck that is smooth as silk. Gotoh 510 bridge. Stainless steel frets. This is my highest quality electric guitar hands down. Perfect setup and intonation, and very versatile.
D’Angelico Deluxe DC
My current 335 style axe. The satin black finish plus gold hardware is stunning. This guitar has a unique 6 way pickup selector that allows split coil sounds in each position.
Gretsch 6122 Jr (Country Classic Jr)
I’ve turned down SO MANY offers to sell this guitar. It’s a special axe, built in 1999 or 2000. The tone always sits perfectly in a mix, and the Bigsby vibrato is smoother than any I’ve ever played.
Bluesman Vintage Coupe
I bought this guitar on a whim from a small shop in Baton Rouge LA before a show in 2016. Best tele I’ve ever owned.
G&L Legacy USA
Great strat-style guitar. The G&L PTB tone circuit makes this guitar incredibly versatile.
Squier Vintage Modified Jazzmaster Baritone
A very cool baritone guitar. The stock Squier pickups sound surprisingly good. This is a secret weapon in the studio.

2003 Collings D2H
This guitar is a cannon. I searched every guitar shop in Nashville for the best dreadnought I could find, and this was it! I bought it from Gruhn’s in 2013 and have played it on hundreds of sessions since then.
Taylor 310
I bought this off a friend of mine a few years back. It’s been played in nicely and is a great guitar for strumming tracks. Compliments the Collings beautifully.
Alvarez CY118 Nylon String
I bought this in college when I was studying classical guitar. I now use it fairly often on sessions.

Michael Kelly Dragonfly Mandolin
I’ve used this on tons of tracks for TV, plus a few artist sessions as well.
Regal Resonator
This is a great, affordable dobro that I bought off an old buddy of mine. It’s made it’s way onto many a session.

1965 Fender Deluxe Reverb and Shaw Fulltilt 30
My real deal 1965 blackface Deluxe and my Shaw Fulltilt 30. Two great amps that cover a ton of tonal ground. The Shaw has 2 channels…one with a 12ax7 pre-amp section and one with an EF86 pre-amp section.
Touring Pedal Board
Signal path: guitar > Line6 HX Stomp > Stomp FX Loop send > Jetter Gold Standard OD > Xotic SP Compressor > Mythos Mjolnir OD > Dunlop Volume X Mini > Stomp FX Loop return > amp.

- Fractal Audio AXE FX 2 for tracking guitars. I use it on tons of sessions and it always delivers. The built in amp sounds and effects are mind blowing.
- D’Addario strings for acoustic and electric guitars. I use 12s or 13s on my acoustics and 10s on my electrics most of the time. I”ll occasionally throw some 9.5s or 9s on though.
- Picks – I’m forever changing up my picks. It’s the quickest, cheapest, easiest way to get completely different tones out of your guitars. Perennial favorites are Fender Mediums and any version of Dunlop Jazz IIIs.
- I have a variety of slides, but my favorites are Rock Slides.
